Recognize and convert data type of cells |
If you are working in the USA and a foreign
customer sends you a document, there are a number of
cells that contain date&time as 2004-12-31, Excel (English
edition) might not recognize it and will treat it as text. You will have to
re-enter every date into Excel again. Addintools Assist could
recognize these cells as dates
and will convert them to the local date format of your
computer.
The Additional Text Format Recognized:
All formats: August 3; 2004 3-Aug-04; 08/03/2004 00:00:00;

Locked & Unlocked Cell Lens |
When you open a protected worksheet
which you constructed in the past, can you remember
which range is locked and which range is unlocked?
What will happen if you send customers a document
which includes some cells that have been locked
incorrectly? |
|
Design Protected Worksheets
Efficiently! |
The Locked & Unlocked Cell Lens
changes the background color of cells according to their lock/unlock
state: locked cells to gray,
and unlocked cells are shown in blue. Assist
also offers a Quick Lock button to lock the
selected range at once and a Quick Unlock
button to unlock immediately. Now you can
clearly see which cells are locked and which
cells are unlocked. Just cancel this Cell
Lens and the original background color will be restored.
|
Cell Lens of Data Type |
When you are using a summary formula or other math
formulas in Microsoft® Excel®, do you sometimes find that the
summary value is incorrect and some cells are not included
in the summary? If the format is incorrect, Excel
considers the data of these cells as text rather
than number. The text is always treated as zero when totaling,
so the value of the summary is incorrect. |
|
Seek Invalid Data Type Quickly! |
Excel can recognize the data type of cells and
ranges, but users cannot. Addintools Assist offers
the function Data Type Cell Lens. It renders and changes the background
color of cells according to their data type: Text changed to green,
Number to blue, Date and Time to yellow, empty cells changed to "No Filled Color".
Cells that include text and are therefore totaled incorrectly will be
visible at
once. You can use the Data Type Conversion to convert the data of
those cells to number type. You will then get the correct value
in your
summary. Just cancel the Data Type Cell Lens,
and the background color
of all cells will be restored to their original state. |
